Black Swan Effects Reel
The most interesting thing about this, to me, is that they added Natalie Portman’s face onto a different dancers body in just about every dancing scene. I knew she didn’t do all the dancing, obviously, but the P.R. campaign focused so heavily on how much training she did, and how she picked up the dancing so quickly, how she learned more ballet in a few...

There is, demonstrably, no leftist equivalent to Sarah...

Don’t quote Springsteen, even though he’s awesome
– comment written at the top of an English paper I just got back. I feel like my T.A. doesn’t ~get me~ (or maybe she was pissed because I didn’t include him in my Works Cited?)

“Blood libel”: How language evolves and spreads... →
When Sarah Palin used the term “blood libel” to describe purported attacks on her and the Tea Party movement in the wake of Saturday’s tragic shooting in Tucson, some were left wondering why the former governor would use a phrase historically associated with anti-Semitism.
But, whatever the merits or demerits of Palin’s usage, it didn’t come out of nowhere. And that alone is a useful reminder...
